Rmarts has sold eight company-operated convenience stores in the greater Chicagoland market. The stores were sold to an undisclosed regional convenience store operator and Downstream Energy Group served as the exclusive sell-side advisor.
Founded in 1951 with its first location at the corner of Ohio and LaSalle in downtown Chicago, Rmarts is a respected, family-owned convenience store operator with more than 70 years of service to the Chicagoland community. The company operates Shell and 76 branded gas and convenience locations throughout the greater Chicago metropolitan area.
The transaction represents a strategic milestone for Rmarts, enabling the family to realize value from a portion of its portfolio while continuing to own and operate the legacy locations that remain central to its long-term business.
Downstream Energy Group is an independent, privately held M&A advisory firm owned and led by the partners who run its deals, providing national M&A and strategic advisory services to the downstream energy and convenience store sector.
